A loud explosion was heard on Monday near the Peshawar Police Lines area, Pakistan-based news agencies Dawn and GeoTV reported. There were multiple injuries, with a GeoTV report saying that at least 50 people were injured.
The area has been cordoned off.
The GeoTV report suggested that the blast occurred near a mosque.
