"Most Effective" Counter Against HIMARS? Russia Fields Upgraded Pantsir Defence Systems In Ukraine

HIMARS has proven to be a “game changer” in Ukraine’s fight against the Russian invasion. The US-made missile system has played a crucial role in Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Kharkiv and Kherson last year. Ukraine has been using the HIMARS rockets to attack Russian supply and ammunition depots. The Ukrainian military had used the HIMARS rockets to attack Russian troops in Makiivka earlier in January. The attack is considered to be the biggest loss of life for the Russian military in the nearly year-long war. This has forced Russian leadership to go back to the drawing board and look for solutions against Western weapons like HIMARS. Russia has proactively sought upgrades to its Pantsir air defence system to counter Ukraine’s offensive attacks.
