The 25-year-old Divita Rai is representing India at the 71st Miss Universe pageant featuring 86 models competing for the prestigious title.

Designed by Abhishek Sharma, the outfit featured a gold choli, white and gold lehenga and gold wings.

Born in Mangalore, Divita, an architect and model, studied at Mumbai's Sir JJ College of Architecture. After Divita was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2022 at 24, she has been working towards providing education to children, especially girls. To achieve this, Divita partnered with NGOs such as Nanhi Kali, CRY, and Teach for India.

In September 2021, Rai collected funds for a child-help foundation to help children who couldn’t bear the cost of cancer treatment.

In Divita’s words, motto of her life is "to not fear change, embrace life, and live each moment to its fullest".

Divita had also participated in Miss Diva Universe 2021 and bagged the second RUNNERS-UP position with Harnaaz Sandhu winning the title.
